Adapting to a Changing Climate 2/3/2020

This is a response, or rather an idea, created while reading over the “Adapting to a Changing Climate” article. When reading the article they mention the “private sector”. Referring to big business and the money that comes with it, to address the problems of climate change and help establish adaptation/mitigation compounds or devices. However, big business will not just willingly act on climate change unless their is some incentive for them in terms of profit gain. The idea that struck me is that: The entity giving out incentives would likely be the government but instead of giving it to companies give it directly to the people. It all starts with all the little things we do everyday. Turing down the A/C, taking the bus/riding your bike to destinations, proper waste management, etc. All of these little things could be rewarded in rebates by companies to the people or simply just rebates from the government directly into the hands of the people doing the actual work.
